I’m an Army veteran who, for a long time, felt like I was just floating through life. I came from an athletic background—always active, always competing—but after the military, I lost my sense of purpose. I felt stuck. No drive. No direction. Just surviving, not really living.

My mental health took a hit, and it got to a point where I knew I needed change. During one of my therapy sessions, my therapist told me to reconnect with the things that made me feel alive again—to get back into training or something that challenged me physically and mentally. That’s when I returned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

BJJ gave me structure. It gave me community. It brought me back into a space full of like-minded people who understood the importance of discipline, struggle, and growth. But one thing kept bugging me: the gear. As someone who’s always been in tune with fashion and streetwear, a lot of the designs just didn’t resonate with me. They didn’t reflect the energy or culture I felt on the mats.

So I created Damaged Goods.

The name says it all. In BJJ, everybody’s a little banged up—physically, mentally, emotionally—but we still show up. We’re still good. This brand is a reflection of that spirit. It’s for those who’ve been through it, who carry their scars with pride, and who keep moving forward anyway.

Damaged Goods isn’t just clothing—it’s a statement. A reminder that even when life wears you down, there’s still power in your story, strength in your struggle, and beauty in the damage.
